The 2025 Women of Distinction Awards consist of online submissions; materials must be submitted by 11:59pm, December 8, 2024.

If you foresee a conflict meeting this deadline please contact us at hbarkley@ywcahamilton.org. Once the deadline has passed no further submissions can be uploaded.

ENTRY COMPLETION

Create your member account.

  • Select the category you wish to nominate someone in, and submit yours and your nominee's information according to the specifications for the category.
  • All supporting materials listed are required. For questions or concerns, contact Cristina Lopes, Events & Community Fundraising Specialist at YWCA Hamilton.
  • Entries will be saved in your member account, and can be edited up until the entry deadline (11:59pm, December 8, 2024). If you require assistance with submissions, please contact us at hbarkley@ywcahamilton.org.

Accuracy of submitted materials is the responsibility of the applicant. Information given on the entry form will be used exactly as submitted in the award ceremony through production, presentation, and recognition in the media.

Your nominee MUST consent to the contents of your nomination submission. Without the consent of the nominee, the submission will not go forward to the Nomination Review round.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE

  • Online submission, including all supporting documentation must be complete by 11:59pm, December 8, 2024.
  • After this deadline, YWCA Hamilton reserves the right to extend the deadline for a SPECIFIC category and solicit additional entries in the event that there are less than three entries from a minimum of two nominees in the category in question.

FINAL NOTES

  • YWCA Hamilton reserves the right to disqualify incomplete submissions without notice.
  • Acceptance of submissions received is at the discretion of YWCA Hamilton.
  • YWCA Hamilton reserves the right to realign categories due to volume of entries. If this process should take place, entrants will be notified.
  • If there are fewer than two entries in any category, YWCA Hamilton reserves the right to eliminate that category from the competition.
  • All entrants agree to be bound by these rules.

REVIEWING PROCESS

Nomination Reviewers are independent volunteers across Hamilton and Halton Region (this includes the City of Burlington and the towns of Oakville, Milton, and Halton Hills) who will review this year's community-led nominations. Using Awardify's online award system, each nomination reviewer will read through all supporting materials and score them according to a common scoring tool and set of criteria. All nominee scores will be tabulated and reviewed by an independent auditor. 

Online reviewing will take place from January 17 - February 3, 2025.

Reviewing criteria are listed with each category description. All entries are scored based on reviewing criteria.

AWARDS GALA

YWCA Hamilton's Women of Distinction Awards is the largest and most prestigious event honouring women and girls in Hamilton and Halton. Join us as we celebrate the achievements of the trailblazing women and girls who make an impact in our community.

The 2025 Women of Distinction Awards Gala will take place on 6:00pm, March 5, 2025 at Hamilton Convention Centre by Carmen's in 1 Summers Lane, Hamilton.

Funds raised at the Awards Gala power YWCA Hamilton's life-saving and life-changing programs and services for women, girls and gender-diverse people including housing and gender-based violence support services, health equity and economic advancement.
